Background Removal - Walkthrough
Background removal is as easy as it sounds. Simply drag and drop an image that has a foreground and a background, such as a person standing in front of a cornfield. The higher the contrast between the two parts, the better.
Using Background Removal in Cogniwerk.ai
Next to your Image in the canvas you find the edit section. Select the little icon with the rubber.

- Select Background Removal.
- Choose the removal type:
- General: The tool selects what it thinks is the foreground from the background. This is usually quite accurate.
- Humans: If your image has a person that you want to separate, choose this type.
- Anime: For anime-style pictures, select this type.
When you are finished, hit “remove background” button. A few seconds later, you will have a downloadable PNG with a transparent background that you can use in any other creative program.
